The very worst thing about the rising cost of fuel is that we are completely dependent on other countries. A quick glance at the who is who in the world of oil production and we quickly realize that we are not always amongst friends.

This beautiful country of ours was built on the principle of freedom and independence. Nowhere else is this trend so true that in the vehicle industry.

Whilst the price of a gallon of gas was still below the two dollars mark, we Americans were only too happy to drive the most powerful cars we could find, even if we seldom needed all that power. One look at the Humvee, and the power all terrain vehicles and you know what I mean. Our motto was simple: “Power was good, gas was cheap and if felt just good!”

But how things have changed! In the course of a single year, the price of a gallon of gas has gone up from a couple of dollars to over 4 dollars and there is no predicting as to how far it’ll go!

The need for power has been replaced by the need for economy and if we want to continue to enjoy our time honored traditions, we are going to have to do something about our gas consumption.

It’s simple really: Our country needs it.

It is now vital that we understand how we can improve our gas mileage which also means how we can keep some of our hard earned money in our pocket.

The good news is that other taking some easy to follow steps in order to improve a car mileage, there are also things we can do right now to make our dollar go the extra mile.. or two.

Hydrogen: Developed from a hydrogen gas generator, this technology offers a promising gas mileage enhancement system that is being used more and more throughout the world. Savings are reported to go well over the 100 pc mark, but even if only half of this is achieved, this is one option well worth looking into. Hydrogen, combined with other electrolyzed gases speeds up the flame spread during combustion. In doing so, fuel is brought to a temperature allowing more injected fuel to vaporize and thereby prepares it for further combustion.

Magnetic type fuel saver is another option available today shown to improve the performance of most vehicles. will help you to save nearly 25 % of your fuel cost and at the same time improve gas mileage as well. Here also substantial gas consumption enhancements are well reported. Combustion is at the center of car performance. Stand behind some cars, and you will see fumes light to dark emanating from the exhausts pipes. This type of fuel saver eliminates has wastage by breaking down hard HC molecules and therefore offerings improved combustion. Better auto gas mileage can be achieved by using the Magnetic fuel saver.

Energycel is technology centered around magnets which form a strong magnetic field around the fuel line. This magnet field then helps to pass gas to the combustion chamber of the engine and thus enhance gas mileage. In addition to its mileage enhancement properties, it is also an eco-friendly product.

Petromoly is a Molybdenum Disulfide lubricating engine oil treatment for cars. It not only improves gas mileage but also avoids premature wear and tear of the engine. It is wildely reported that Petromoly improves the gas mileage of a vehicle by as much as 50 %.

Turbonator a dynamic air in flow design product made up of stainless steel. This a fuel saver product can easily be installed in the air cleaner or air in-take systems of a vehicle with a simple screw-drive. Gas mileage enhancements are thouhgt to be in the region of up to 22 %.

Finally… Remember that sudden accelation and aggressive driving are known for their gas wasting properties. We are not recommending you bring down your speed to a crawl but speed reduction does have a market effect on gas consumption. Be sensible in your driving. Aim for a reduced and constant speed. Avoid braking suddenly as this means that you will have to accelarate in order to get back to your former speed.

Price of gas is at an all high level and if you think that over $4 for a gallon of gas is expensive, think again. Estimations are that by the end of 2008, a gallon of gas will set up back $6 and more!

More than never has there been a need to improve gas mileage and in this post, I will list obvious but often disregarded steps to achieve just that.

Improve your mileage in 10 easy steps

Maintain your car. Perhaps the most commonly overlooked aspect of car ownership now is really the time to ensure that the interior parts of the engine are clean and in working orders. Clean and eventually replace your spark plugs. Change your oil regulary and choose a high quality oil. Make sure your car is properly tuned.

Air filters are there to perform one simple job, just as their name indicate. When dirty, they fail to work as they should and as a result gas consumption rises. If your air filter is clogged and dirty, make sure you change it immediately. This will ensure smooth acceleration of the vehicle which in terms mean a more regulated and economical gas consumption.

Air conditioning when run extensively needs extra gas. Drive without the air on, and if you cannot, use it on a lower level of strength.

Use fuel recommended by the factory. High performance cars should use higher octane gasoline.

Check your tires regularly. Not only is this step vital for your security and that of your family, properly inflated tires ensure an optimum level of friction between the road and the car. Friction is the number one cause of resistance and an optimized friction will ensure that less gas is needed by the engine to run at given speeds.

Maintain an even speed at all times. Avoid sudden acceleration and deceleration. If at all possible, anticipate your speed in advance and drive at even speeds.

Use cruise control when driving on a highway.

Choose your route wisely. A winding country road may be beautiful but the constant turning and needs to stop at intersections and stop signs are bad news for gas consumption. If you can, use a highway instead.

When going out shopping, try to group all your shopping tasks together so as to avoid long period of stoppages between trips. Cold engines consume more fuel than warmed up engines.

Drive below the speed limit.

We are all facing a mountain energy crisis which has plunged the country into what many experts call a recession. Although we are dependent on foreign countries and interestes for our own car needs, there are things we can do right now to reduce this level of dependency, stop pouring our money into the pockets of fat oil companies and opec countries and more importantly keep it into ours.

Using water for fuel seemed like a ridiculous idea a year or so ago, back when we were up in arms because the price of a gallon of gas set us back more than two dollars at the pump.

How we all wish we had this problem today! Go to the gas station today and expect to spend upwards of 50 dollars on average for so called economical saloon cars.. How things have changed!

This compact car is introduced in the year of 2007. This is a inexpensive car model. The EPA fuel economy of this car will allow you to travel across nearly 29 cities and 63 highways. The engine, which can be used with this compact, is of around 106 horsepower, with around 1.5liter I-4. Available transmission is of four speed automatic w/OD or 5-speed manual w/OD. This car designed squat and has miniscule overhangs. The car is 3 feet shorter and around an inch taller.

2) Honda Fit:
Honda also launched this car in the year of 2007. It is entry level subcompact void car. The EPA fuel economy of this car is for city is about 27 to 28 and that is for highway is around 33 to 34. For this compact car available engine is of about 109 horsepower and around 1.5 liters I-4. Available transmission with this car is 5 speed automatic w/OD and auto-manual.
